  Cholesterol is a soft, fat-like, waxy substance found in the bloodstream and in all your bodys cells. Its normal to have cholesterol. Cholesterol is an important part of a healthy body because its used for producing cell membranes and some hormones, and serves other needed bodily functions. But too much cholesterol in the blood is a major risk for coronary heart disease (which leads to heart attack) and for stroke. Hypercholesterolemia is the medical term for high levels of blood cholesterol.


Home Remedies for Cholesterol

Our bodies need cholesterol to:

Maintain healthy cell walls
Make hormones (the bodys chemical messengers)
Make vitamin D
Make bile acids, which aid in fat digestion

Home remedies for cholesterol #1: Mix 1 tsp. of roasted chicory root.

1 tsp. of lime flowers.
1/2 tsp. of fenugreek seeds.
1/2 tsp. of ginger rhizome.
1 quart of water.

Boil all ingredients, let it cool, strain. Drink 2 cups a day.
